Check proof against a published issuer key
For a Vitni credential, the verifier checks its cryptographic proof against the issuer key published by the organization. The public issuer identity and the credential document can be inspected independently of the issuer workspace.
For external credentials, the verifier follows the identifiers and proof information in the document where supported. Protocol and proof-method compatibility still matters; the project’s independent interoperability review is in progress, so Vitni does not claim universal conformance with every credential implementation.

Check dates and revocation status
A signature alone does not tell you whether a credential is still current. Vitni also checks its validity dates and, for issued Vitni credentials, the signed status list used to report revocation.
The result should be read as a set of checks, not a statement about the real-world truth of the achievement. A mathematically valid proof cannot establish that the issuer’s claim is accurate or that the issuer is trustworthy.

Try a credential in the public verifier
Paste a credential URL or document into the verifier. The result explains what Vitni could check and surfaces unsupported or unavailable information instead of treating missing evidence as a successful check.
Credential holders can also share the public presentation page, a QR code, or a signed JSON-LD document so another person or service can inspect the award.
